Agona- Swedru (C/R), June 20, GNA - The Presidential Candidate of the New Party Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on market women to use the power of their thumb to change the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He said they should take advantage of the November 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections to change the NDC.

He said the NDC government under President John Dramani Mahama has failed to rescue Ghanaian women from economic hardship.

The NPP flag bearer made the call when he addressed Agona Swedru Mandela market women as part of his campaign tour of the Central Region to solicit for votes.

According to Nana Akufo-Addo, there are ample evidence of the terrible economic hardship market women are going through due to bad governance under President Mahama.

Nana Akufo-Addo was accompanied by Mr Kwamena Bartels, former Interior Minister, Professor Dominic Fobi, former Minister of Education and MP for Assin South, Mr Robert Kutin, Regional Chairman of NPP, Mr Joe Donkor, Regional Vice Chairman of NPP and others.

He called on the market women to support him to charge the corrupt NDC government through the ballot box.

The NPP Flag bearer said the party is aware of huge payment of electricity pre-paid bills coupled with high school fees and frequent petroleum hikes that had affected their businesses.

He said under President Mahama has turned its back against the agricultural sector, which is the back born of the economy, adding that without good policies and programmes for the sector, the country would continue to suffer.

He assured the Agona Swedru Central and Mandela Markets women that NPP has good plans that could easily change their businesses to improve their living conditions.

He said NPP has the capability to create the enabling environment that would help to create jobs and wealth for Ghanaians women to reduce their poverty levels.

Nana Akufo-Addo asked the women to vote for him to become President, adding changing the bad economy is easy for a government under NPP.

Mr Kojo Addo, Agona West Chairman of NPP and Mrs Cynthia Morrison, Agona West NPP Parliamentary Candidate also addressed the markets women.
