As part of efforts to championing the cause of young people and empowering them to face the future with certainty, Youth Without Borders Ghana has begun a national and continental campaign dubbed : I Empower-Youth Empowerment Campaign(IE-YEC).

I EMPOWER-Youth Empowerment Campaign (IE-YEC) is a 2year social movement to reach out to over 100million young people around the world with special focus on those in Ghana (10million) and Africa (350million) through seminars, keynotes, workshops, media discussions, TV and Radio programmes, books, CDs, online and social media activities. The campaign is meant to inspire dreams, transform lives and drive positive change in our youth. The campaign seeks to tackle the challenges facing the youth to ensure a better life for them all. To move more aggressively towards this direction, we need to challenge the systems around the world of the youth that does not allow their total development and build concrete structures to give the youth the right motivation to act on their dreams.

The campaign which seeks to reach all young people with messages of consciousness, hope and confidence is under the theme:Resurrecting the spirit, power and hope of our youth for sustainable development”. The campaign officially started on the 25th of May, 2016 during the Ghana Muslim Youth Camp (GMYC) organized by Volunteers for Muslim Youth Empowerment and Development (VOMYED)

After series of talks on personal development and entrepreneurship, the over hundred (100) campers were trained on soft skills such as preparation of shower gel, hair shampoo, liquid soap, parazone, fresh yoghurt, and soft drinks. Participants who were mostly SHS graduates from various part of the country expressed their satisfaction and appreciation to Youth Without Borders Ghana for such initiative.

The 2year campaign which is expected to reach 100million people will target especially Generation Y members (young people from15-35yrs born between 1980-2001) who are mostly found in our high schools, tertiary institutions, communities and the early entrance into our workforce. This includes males and females, school and out-of-school, skilled and unskilled, able and disable, strong and weak, rural and urban youth. The campaign will also reach all youth development stakeholders especially youth workers, parents, leaders, chiefs, opinion leaders, policy makers, schools, teachers, communities, caring adults, government, agencies, NGOs and organizations/companies who care.

Dwamena Akenten Senior High School, Offinso, Ashanti, as part of the campaign strategy to reach out to leaders of high schools was the first school in Ashanti region to host the campaign on 28th May, 2016. Close to hundred (100) school prefects were taking through some leadership and entrepreneurship skills. The prefects were also trained to effectively manage their time to achieve academic excellence.

Youth Without Borders Ghana is a youth-for-youth development non-governmental organization, non -profit, non-religious, non-political and social movement with national, continental and global outlook. It seeks to courageously challenge the systems around the world of young people that hinder the full realization of their potential and development. The group’s commitment is to build concrete structures and solutions to address the developmental challenges facing young people and society at large.

The group involves highly motivated and committed young Ghanaians with enormous experiences in youth leadership, youth development, youth empowerment and Volunteerism both home and abroad. These are young people who are passionate about helping Ghana find itself again on the stage of excellence, national and regional consciousness by holding socio-economic engagements and stakeholder consultations to unearth the potentials of youth in Ghana. Youth Without Borders Ghana has also committed itself to resurrect and relive Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s dream of making Africa a global player through the power of the youth.
