Kwahu Chief Goes Mad Over Arrest Of An Assembly Man

Adontinhene, Abetifhene and acting president of Kwahu Tradional Area of Eastern Region, Nana Asiedu Agyeman III has shown his disregard over the prosecute and detained of the New Oworobong Assembly member Hon. Kofi Asante and Rev. Raphael Zortor.

The victims where arrested by Eastern Regional Police Command into the police custody after a complain made by a fullani herdsmen which states the victims has has shot and killed a cattle at Amartey, Suburb of Kwahu which belongs to they the Fulani's.

Speaking to Nana Asiedu Agyeman III in an interview, he said the Fulani herdsmen has been disturbing them over couple of years now so the Kwahu Traditional Council came into an agreement to match to the farms with their men to sweep out all Fulani Herdsmen since the government effort was insufficient.

According to Nana Asiedu Agyeman III, the regional and the national security council pleaded to them not to take an action like that and therefore pledged to eliminate all the Fulani Herdsmen from the district by the end of march but yet the Fulani Herdsmen are still in the district disturbing their privacy. So these might be the cattle's which was trying to feed on Hon. Asante's farm and in an attempt to prevent them, one cattle mistakenly was shot dead.

Nana shown his worry that, even if it has happened that way, the investigation started in Kwahu by Nkawkaw police where it came out that they've wronged therefore they need to be prosecuted but with no time the case was transfered to Koforidua Circuit Court meanwhile there is

the same court in Kwahu where the incident happened. That I think the police is not treating them well.

The police are not fair to we the Kwahu citizens because the effort they put when a citizen report a Fulani is different from what the put when a Fulani reports a farmer. He added.
