President John Dramani Mahama’s late mother, Hajia Abiba Nnaba, has been buried in her hometown, Busunu in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region.

The late Hajia Abiba Nnaba, died in Accra on Tuesday, and the remains were airlifted to Busunu Friday for burial in line with Islamic tenets.

The burial was officiated by the Chief Imam of Busunu, Alhaji  Ibrahim Iddrisu and the Muslim Ulamah.

The Mahama family including President Mahama , Alfred Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama and the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, witnessed the burial in front of the late Hajia Abiba Nnaba’s private residence.

Right Honorable Doe Adjaho, Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Portophy, NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Members of Parliament and representatives of various political parties were present.

Hundreds of mourners from all walks of life joined the first family and bid farewell to the late Hajia Abiba Nnaba whom many described as a mother for all.

Government functionaries including Ministers of state, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, political party representatives, family members, well-wishers and sympathizers, witnessed the burial ceremony in front of the late Hajia Abina Nnaba’s private residence in Busunu.
