Accra- 11th June, 2016 – The Calvary Crystal Church International has organized a health walk to create the awareness for the need to live a healthy life. The walk started at Kwashieman junction, on the N1 express road, through Ordorkor, on the Kaneshie-Winneba road, to Mallam junction and back to Kwashieman.

The health initiative, the first to be organized by the church, shall be a yearly event on its calendar to emphasize the need of a healthy living. The week-long activity started with a talk, on, “Your Food and Your Health”, and “Your Health and Fitness” on 8th and 9th of June, 2016 respectively.

The walk which was themed “Promoting Health and Evangelism”, sought to encourage members of the church as well as the general public on healthy lifestyle, and also shared the love of Jesus Christ to many that did not know Him.

The General Overseer of the church, Bishop Emmanuel Dankyi-Anane urged all participants, especially the youth, to holistically develop their spirit, soul and body. Adding that, regular exercising plays a major role in boosting your health.

Bishop Dankyi-Anane observed that, Christians have always emphasized on only the spiritual health of the man, and that its time we woke up to the reality of healthy living.

He adds, “While we live increasingly busy lives, there is the need for everyone, both young and old to deliberately commit to an exercise and fitness regime, combined with healthy eating to ensure a better and quality life”.

Bishop Dankyi- Anane used the opportunity to invite the general public to be a part of the health screening which will take place at the Calvary Crystal Church International on the Sunday, 12th June, 2016.

The health walk and Evangelism attracted an impressive number of people especially the youth and they actively engaged in all the activities to mark the day.
