There Is No School Under Tree In Gomoa West—Says DCE

The Gomoa West District Chief Executive, Hon. Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, has disclosed that there is no single school under tree in the district.

"Am happy to state that there is no single school under tree in the Gomoa West district. All our schools have been provided with conducive environment to boost effective teaching and learning. There are enough desks, teachers and learning materials in our schools"

Hon Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah announced this when he on behalf of the Assembly handed over a newly constructed Six classroom block with office and store for the Apam Presbyterian Basic school recently.

The Ghc 143,000 classroom block was funded through the Assembly's share of the Common Fund.

The DCE noted that the school has been given a modern kindergarten and teacher's bungalow all to ensure that the academic standard of the school improves.

" I want parents to reciprocate what the NDC government led by H. E John Dramani Mahama is doing for the people and vote accordingly for him in the 2016 general elections.

President Mahama has performed creditably and thus deserves to be given the mandate to lead the country to it's desire haven.

I always say that the NDC was born for the people of Gomoa. Over 90% of developmental related project in Gomoa West District were executed in the era of NDC government.

My señor colleagues like Mrs. Ama Benyiwa-Doe who was the former MP for Gomoa West and the late Mr. Kow Anyanful, a former DCE for Gomoa West started what am building upon.

The Assembly will continually offer good services to improve standard of living of the people in the district"

The DCE lauded teachers on the school and urged them to give out their best to ensure that their students attain height on the educational ladder.

Obotantam Edu Effirim X, chief of Apam cautioned to deal rudely with parents who would toy with the education of their children adding that they should invest heavily in their education

The Head teacher of the Apam Presbyterian Basic school, Miss Gladys Obeng in his welcome address noted that the school which was established in 1993 with 20 students can now boast of 432 students with 15 teachers.

In a related development, the Gomoa West DCE, Mr. Theophilus Aidoo- Mensah as part of his community visit has also handed over a 10-seater KVIP to the chiefs and people of Gomoa Nkran as part of eliminating open defecation.

Chief of Gomoa Nkran, Nana Ayibaw Mbir VI commended President Mahama and the NDC government for the facility. He however appealed to the Assembly to complete their health center which he said was offering health care delivery for over 5,000 people in the vicinity.

Nana Ayibaw Mbir VI bemoaned the rate at school girls were being impregnated and warned to personally arrest boys or men caught in such illicit act, send them to the police and ensure their persecution.

According to the chief, he has observed with concern girls dropping out of school due to pregnancies and has to take a bold step to eradicate the social canker from the community.

Mr. Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah called on the people to ensure cleanliness in the town in the wake of the recent rainfall to avoid environmental related diseases.

"President John Dramani Mahama heard your plight and tasked the Assembly to provide this facility to halt open defecation. I encourage the people of Gomoa Nkran to vote massively for President Mahama on November 7 general elections knowing very well that he would continually change the lives of the people".
