Accra, May 27, GNA - The Tema Regional United Cadres Front (UCF) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has organised a durbar to evaluate the development the party has brought to Ghanaians.

The durbar which was held in Ashaiman mobilised the Cadres to work together and give Ghanaians reasons why their party deserves another chance to serve the nation.

Mr Efanam Felix Nyaku, Member of the Interim Management Committee of the UCF told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that, the durbar was necessary to get more voters on their side, and to reenergise the Cadres who are the grass root organisers of the party.

'That was why we brought them together to inculcate into them the need to go to the ground and work so that they can have a leadership of their choice in administration,' he said.

Mr Nyaku noted that to ensure the party's victory, it is necessary to define the role it is playing in the development of the country in healthcare delivery, improvement in infrastructure, development of schools, provision of adequate transportation facilities.

He said Ghanaians should be able to discern between the grain and chaff and judge according to what people have done even with the constraints of the past.

Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, Greater Accra Regional Minister speaking on the theme: 'Winning 2016 Elections to sustain the changing lives, transforming Ghana Agenda', he said: 'We are going to lay asphalt on our roads in Ashaiman, a step that will benefit us all, therefore why shouldn't we prioritise the dreams of the party.'

'There is no way the party will pollute the minds of their members and other political parties to cause chaos because we love the country,' he said.

He said the development of infrastructure in the country is very important and Ghanaians should always think about the nation first before anything else.

Mr Kofi Adams, National Organiser of the NDC said he knows anytime Cadres meet, something productive comes up for the betterment of the country.

He noted that even though, the truth pains, one becomes a key beneficiary if he stands by it.

'If the President is not working hard, he wouldn't have been chosen by his peers to be an ECOWAS Chairman in his first term, and also by the UN to lead a team,' he said.

Mr Ibrahim Baidoo, Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) urged the Cadres to think about the party and the nation first before their personal gains.

He asked them to make their character one that reflects the belief of the NDC, a quality that shows respect, humility and lack of arrogance.

Mr Sam Atukwei Quaye, MCE of Amasamanm, called on the Executives of the party to fix the Cadres integration in the party's constitution since they are playing a key role in the progress of the NDC.

He advised the Cadres to commit themselves for the progress of the NDC as well as in the development of the nation if they want to see the NDC's re-election.
