B5 Plus Supports Healthcare Delivery In Ghana

Tema based steel company, B5 Plus Limited, has supported health care delivery in the Tema Metropolis with the donation of some medical supplies to the premier health facility in the area.

The donation include, 5 boxes Go Cough, 2 boxes polyfer, 3 boxes of letalin, 2 boxes citramine, 4 boxes zerocid, 2 boxes wooden tongue depressor.

The rest are, a pack each of cafalgin, co-trimoxazole, vitamin B complex, amoxicillin, aluminium hydroxide, blades with handles, boxes of surgical gloves, and boxes of masks among others.

The gifts worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Tema General Hospital, forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility towards national development.

Mr. Kweku Sarpong Kumankumah, Director of Logistics at B5 Plus Limited who presented the items on behalf of the company, said his outfit is determined to assist health facilities to provide good healthcare to patients.

He pointed out that “As B5 Plus embarked on this journey, I have come to appreciate how support, such as this, could enhance the capacity of medical facilities to provide better health care to the population.”

According to him, his outfit will continue to support healthcare delivery to ensure that quality service is provided to the people of Tema and its surrounding communities.

The Director of B5 Plus Limited, Mr. Mukesh Thakwani, in an interview reiterated his firm commitment to continue to support healthcare delivery through the organization of numerous medical camps across the country which he started since 2006, aimed at improving the life of local residents.

In order to improve the health of Ghanaians, he said B5 Plus will extend the next health screening exercise to various places for the general public to get access in order to improve their health conditions coupled with the introduction of more interventions for people who have special health conditions.

Mr. Thakwani further said he was impressed with the services being provided at the hospital and gave an assurance that the B5 Plus would continue to support the effort of the government to deliver world-class health care to the people.

On his part, the Medical Director of the Tema General Hospital, Dr. Kwabena Opoku Adusei, who received the medicines, expressed his appreciation to the management of the steel manufacturing company for the donation, which he said would go a long way to help the people of the Metropolis to stay healthy.

He said the Tema General Hospital is very important as it takes care of the health needs of people over a very wide catchment area.

The corporate social responsibility policy of B5 Plus, has furnished deprived communities with medical facilities, potable water, scholarships and educational resources.

B5 Plus Limited recently gave the people of Dawhenya GH¢10,000 for the completion of the Dawhenya Police Station to curb crime and beef up security in the area.
