MTN Ghana wins six prestigious telecoms awards

Accra, May 25, GNA - MTN Ghana, a telecommunications, has distinguished itself by winning six prestigious awards at the just Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards (GITTA) organised by Instinct Wave.

MTN Ghana topped all other operators in the following categories, Telecom Operator of the Year, Best Telecom Business of the Year (MTN Business), Best Customer Service of the Year, Customer Service Team of the Year and Mobile Money Service of the Year.

A statement issued in Accra by Mrs Cynthia Lumor, Corporate Services Executive said MTN Ghana's Chief Information Officer Abbad Reda was also adjudged Chief Information Officer of the year.

It said the awards were in recognition of MTN Ghana's excellent customer care, innovation and product development and deployment.

Mr Ebenezer Asante, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN Ghana said: 'It gives us great pleasure to receive these awards. They validate MTN's focus on providing a distinct customer experience with innovative, relevant services and affirm our leadership in the industry.

'The areas in which we won the awards are significant ones and confirm that MTN is indeed the network of choice.'

He said: 'Winning the Customer Service award for the third consecutive time shows that we are indeed a customer centric company.'

He said MTN has taken a lot of steps to enhance customer experience and its staff has been trained to understand that no matter what their functional responsibility or level is, they all must focus in delighting the customer.

The CEO said the awards presented to MTN Business, Mobile Money and the Chief Information Officer demonstrated the value of the continuous investments, the company made in using the best talents to deliver the best experiences.

'The awards received by MTN are the results of decades of significant investments in network technology and infrastructure, customer relationship management and staff investment,' he added.

Mr Asante said the Company is poised to roll out fast, reliable LTE services in all regions in Ghana and would be the first to deploy on-the-go 4G services.

He dedicated the awards to its hardworking staff and its more than 17 million loyal subscriber base, as the Company celebrates its 20th anniversary.
