I Was Appointed For TEINNDC Youth -Deputy Minister
24.05.2016 LISTEN

From Ernest Best Anane, Kumasi
Mr. Andy Osei Okrah, Deputy Ashanti Regional Deputy Minister, has revealed that he was appointed by the President, mainly for the interest of TEIN and the youth in the various tertiary institutions. According to him, his appointment was to ensure that the youth of the NDC in the region interfaced with party sympathisers in the educational institutions, be heard, and given the needed attention before, during, and after the 2016 elections.

Speaking at a symposium organised by the Kumasi Polytechnic branch of TEIN, under the theme: “Equipping the youth in the 2016 elections”, the Deputy Minister entreated members of TEIN to embark on vigorous campaigns by sending the good message of the party concerning the government programmes and projects, in line with the total transformation of the country, and the lives of the citizenry.

According to him, the biggest opposition party, New Patriotic Party (NPP), is not good at research, and challenged the youth, especially members of TEIN, to do more research to win more votes than the targeted one million, since no president has achieved more than the Mahama government, in terms of infrastructural development.

Mr. Osei Okrah charged them to engage in intellectual discourses, because the future of the NDC belongs to them and that 2016 is a done deal for President Mahama. “It is time to contribute and avail yourselves for leadership positions in the constituencies and regions, and get involved in party activities, and the time is now,” he said.

Fusani Donkor, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kumawu Afram Plains, pointed out that TEIN should be able to expose NPP lies, saying the NPP had no campaign message, are frustrated for power, and would take advantage at the least opportunity to gain cheap popularity.

He said the NPP’s only campaign message is unemployment, forgetting that it is a global challenge, and stressed that Ghanaians should not lose sight of the numerous projects the government was executing to give direct employment to the citizens of Ghana.
