Joy News' Northern Regional correspondent, Mohammed Hashmim and Salwa Baba Mahama were united in marriage on Sunday, May 22, 2016, during a 12:30 p.m. outdoor ceremony.
It was all hearty and very colourful as Mohammed Hashmim introduced the lady of his heart, Salwa Baba Mahama to friends, family as well as well-wishers as his wife in Tamale. Salwa Baba Mahama is a nurse at the Tamale Hospital.
Imams and mallams played their part in accordance with Islamic traditions by offering dua's and several quranic recitations to join the two together as man and wife.
Rare traditional Dagbani dances were displayed to entertain friends and well-wishers.
The ceremony brought the Tamale to a standstill with the Tamale Central and Employment and Labour Relations Minister, Haruna Iddrisu in attendance. Also, district chief executives and leaders from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP) and other political parties graced the occasion.
The Joy News team led by Martha Crenstil Acquah were there to support their colleague.
