A farmer is currently in the grips of Police at the Amansie West District of the Ashanti region for shooting to death a colleague who he mistook as an antelope.

The 42-year-old Akwasi Oppong is reported to have shot his friend Akwasi K. after the latter asked him to shoot an antelope they spotted grazing in the bush.

The incident has left residents of the community in great shock.

A resident of the community Alexander Asare told Starr News the chief of the community is still investigating the bizarre incident.

“They went to the farm together and the suspect claims they saw the antelope grazing but it’s strange that he decided to shoot at the antelopes several minutes after they saw the animals.

“ Now after shooting his colleague, he run home to report himself but when the elders of the community rushed to the scene, the victim was lying in a pool of blood and already dead. The people believe there are some spirits at work because the whole thing is strange, very strange,” he narrated.

He added that the deceased has buried.
