Greenstreet jabs NDC over failure to find Yaa-Naa’s killers

The Flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Greenstreet, has reminded the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), of their campaign promise to find and prosecute the killers of the late Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II.

It is recalled that the NDC in their 2008 manifesto promised the people of Dagbon justice over the death of the late Dagbon overlord.

The NDC is yet to fulfill that promise which supposedly fetched them more votes in the Dagbon State in previous elections.

Addressing a rally at the Tamale Aboabo Market, Ivor Korbina Greenstreet supported the incessant demand for justice in the Yaa-Naa's death.

“In terms of the three northern regions, what we have heard especially since we have been in Dagbon is that,the people of Dagbon feel that the NDC has taken them as slaves and that they are not asleep.”

“They have said that there is so much injustice in Ghana but particularly here: One of the injustices that they have been complaining of is the fact that a good fourteen years after the death of the Yaa-Naa, apart from the fact that the criminals have not been brought to book and the man has never been buried properly, they feel that the NDC is purposely delaying in bringing justice to them.”

 “What we have heard is that, they are going to resist that change and that they are going to protest against that kind of treatment and wait for justice to be delivered to them.”

He concluded that the NDC administration could no longer be trusted in fulfilling its campaign promise linked to the late Yaa-Naa's death.

He urged the electorate in Dagbon to punish the NDC at the November 7 polls and massively vote for the CPP. The CPP Flagbearer cautioned politicians against divisive and vindictive politics.

He said such campaign strategy has the tendency of causing anarchy in the country.

 “We will never engage in practices which are vindictive, divisive, which cause rancor or which will destabilize the peace. What we believe in is the oneness of Ghana, things that will unite us as a people and so for us our world bank is our values of truth, discipline and hard work.”

Ivor Greenstreet reiterated his call on the electorate to reject self-seeking politicians.

“We are tired of politicians who are there to serve their own interest and we are asking the people of Ghana to be brave, courageous, reject their divisiveness, vindictiveness, reject their stories, reject their deceit but embrace truth, honesty, hard work, progress, opportunity and oneness as a nation that we can move together and this is our plea to the people of Ghana.”  

Credible voters’ register brouhaha
Ivor Korbina Greenstreet reaffirmed the CPP's call for the compilation of a credible voters’ register for the 2016 polls.

He said, “We want a voters’ register not just for us to get elected but for Ghanaians to know that we have held a clean, free, fair, credible and transparent election so that there will be peace in this nation.  What the NPP and the NDC have failed to do and we are ready to do is to institute a national identification system so that we will know where all our people are, they are properly registered so that we know what their problems are.”
