Youth: Make Wise Decisions To Achieve Your Dream Life
16.05.2016 LISTEN

In life we make decisions and choices every single day. It is these decisions and choices that determine the course and direction of our lives.

Your past decisions and choices have brought you where you are in life right now. You have to make wise decisions if you want to achieve your dream life, one of prosperity and abundance and fulfilling.

Make yourself teachable
Wise decisions can only be made when you have the best of information on what you want to do with your life. You’ve got to make yourself teachable.

Listen to the teachings of your parents, who undoubtedly are your first teachers in life. Your parents will teach you certain important truths about life. They will teach you how to make wise decisions so that you become successful and prosperous in life.

They will help you to cultivate virtues such as honesty, hard work, patience, diligence, loyalty, faithfulness, discipline and integrity among others. These are the qualities you need to build into your life. They can position you to live a meaningful life.

Pay attention to the teachings of your parents which will give you a long and prosperous life. (Prov.3:2)

Remember God
We should remember the Lord in everything that we do. We should humbly ask for guidance and directions to enable us make the right choices in life. Do not rely on your own senses to do things as this can lead to wrong decisions and poor choices. Do not delude yourself into thinking that you are wiser than you are, as this can prove costly to you in the long run.

Obey the commandments of God and refuse to do wrong. When we make God the centre of our lives, it is like medicine that heals and eases your pain. (Prov. 3: 8).

Honour God with your tithes and offerings
Bible exhorts us to honour God with our substance (finances) and everything we receive. He is Lord over us and that includes the money we have.

Money should be our servant not master. We should not worship him with empty hands.

We should remember that all blessings come from God. By honouring him we acknowledge that he is the real owner and source of our abundance.

He deserves the best of whatever we are blessed with. In Deuteronomy 8:18 his word says, “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God; for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

When we honour God with our substance, we shall not be made poor as a result; we will rather experience an increase. We will be blessed more abundantly.

Tithing and offerings are a great way to honour God. You tithe when you give 10% of your substance to God.

When that is done, what God promises will surely come to pass in your life. Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

We should teach the young ones the importance of tithes and offerings. That it is a key to a life of blessings, peace and happiness.

We should also give to the poor. When you are blessed, bless others.

One who gives enriches his own life.
Make giving to God a habit. Honour him with your wealth and first fruits of your increase. (Proverbs 3:9).

Do this and you will please God. He will pour out his blessings upon your life.

Chastisement and correction
All human beings make mistakes. When God sees us going down the wrong road he provides chastisement and correction. He corrects us because of his love for us.

A good parent will always correct his children with love. God does it even more.

God has great interest in our lives. He is interested in our success. He desires that we get everything good.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” He already knows what we want and is more than willing to help us achieve it. But we should pay attention as his Holy Spirit directs.

What is your major definite purpose in life? When we remain loyal and faithful to him, he will guide and make it possible for us to reach our goals in life.

We should read the scriptures to know the mind of God and to conduct our lives in a manner that is pleasing to him. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 the word of God proclaims, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

Remember we are the clay and he is the potter. He has the power and capacity to mold us the way he wants it.

Seek godly wisdom
Wisdom is a tool of success. It is having the ability and skills to solve difficult human problems.

King Solomon who is reputed to be the wisest and richest man to have walked this planet described wisdom as “the principal thing.” God asked King Solomon the one thing he would want from him and he said wisdom and it was granted.

Bible says wisdom is more precious than gold and silver. Wisdom offers you a long life and with it wealth and honour. It can guide you safely through life.

Wisdom will enable you make wise decisions and choices and help you solve seemly intractable and difficult human problems.

How do you acquire godly wisdom? James 1:5 counsels us, “But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.”

There is one dimension to this: Do not doubt when you pray for wisdom. You must submit to his will, show reverence and remain faithful and loyal in keeping his commandments.

To become successful in life, seek godly wisdom. You will never go wrong when you have wisdom. Your life will overflow with good things and you will experience unprecedented joy, peace, love and happiness.

Moral clean life
Young people should strive to live a morally clean life. Do not plan evil against your neighbor.

Do not withhold help from those who need it. Be a good example to others.

Do good to everyone who comes into your world. Let people remember you for the good things you have done for them.

Humility
Be a humble person and let this reflect in your daily dealings with people. God hates those who are proud and boastful. When you humble yourself, you’ll gain the favour of God in all your endeavours.

People will be pleased with you because of your humility.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the Bible has heavenly principles for our conduct here on earth. The young ones should take in the wisdom seeds contained in this write up to make their life shine.
