Amantia (Ash), May 06, GNA - The Asante-Akim South District has taken steps to build a GH¢ 250,000.00 classroom block for the Amantia Junior High School (JHS) to create more space for effective academic work.

The project is being funded from the District Development Fund (DDF).

It comes with three classrooms, staff common room, library, store and washrooms.

Mr. De-graft Forkuo, the District Chief Executive (DCE), performing the ceremony for construction works to start on the block, asked the contractors, Osdel Enterprise Limited, to make sure that the job was completed within four months.

He warned against shoddy work, saying, the assembly would insist on value for money.

The DCE said they would continue to create the right school environment for smooth teaching and learning and counseled parents to enroll all children of school-going age.

He used the occasion to assure the people that there would be equity in the distribution of projects and that no community would be denied its fair share.

He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the Gyadam-Amantia road, noting that, it would significantly boost the local economy on completion.

He gave assurance that communities in the area which were without electricity, would be hooked to the national grid.

Nana Yaw Yeboah, Krontinhene of the town, welcomed the project and said it could not have come at a better time.
