The Minority leader in Parliament Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has described as 'unfortunate', an endorsement of assault on an MP by another MP for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong.

“If indeed a colleague member has been assaulted and another member is endorsing it, I think it will be unfortunate. Regardless of the provocation, members should be seeking the protection and security of colleague members," he stated.

The outspoken MP Ken Agyapong justified the alleged assault on Manhyia North MP, Collins Owusu Amankwah by the party’s Ashanti regional chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as 'Chairman Wontumi'.

According to Ken Agyapong, his colleague is part of the moles in the NPP ‘flirting’ with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ken Agyapong said that, the incident would serve as a deterrent for other MPs who work against the chances of the party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

But the Minority leader in an interview on Adom News condemned Ken's action in no uncertain terms.

He stated even if the allegation being leveled against the Manhyia North MP, chairman Wontumi had no right to slap him.

“I am not aware that the said member is working against the interest of the presidential candidate to warrant that incident".

Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu called on his party to be each other’s keeper irrespective of the difference they might have.
