Time For Ghanaians To Rise Up To Liberate The Country From Near Collapse

Time For Ghanaians To Rise Up To Liberate The Country From Near Collapse
04.05.2016 LISTEN

Ghana, the land of my birth, is collapsing socio-economically, if not already collapsed, under the weighty blatant official corruption, cluelessness and incompetency spearheaded by President Mahama and a few of his NDC party gurus and government appointees.

Do we have elsewhere to go when the country has completely sunk into the financial abyss by the intentional official thievery in perpetration by the current government? No! Even if there were any such places, it should be understood that there is no place like home.

The nation and the people therein have been let down by the nation’s security forces that have become politicized. They have taken sides with the current government to collapse the nation. Instead of standing up to defend the nation, the safety and security of the citizens, they are rather assisting the government in her practice of selective justice to reintroduce the culture of silence in Ghana with the motive of perpetuating harmful corruption without any obstructions from whomever. They have become effective weapons of intimidation to employ by President Mahama and the NDC to oppress the good, but already suffering people of Ghana.

Is the ongoing fate of Chairman Wontumi not a perfect example of the outrageous length the security forces can go in aiding the government to implement its ridiculously oppressive policies of the culture of silence?

Should we sit on our lap doing nothing, as discerning citizens of Ghana, while rogues drive us into perpetual economic, political and social darkness? No!!!

There is no single person who can liberate Ghana alone. It takes concerted efforts by many citizens to salvage Ghana from her current deplorable state. Kennedy Agyapong, Ernest Owusu Bempa, Chairman Wontumi, Rev. Dr Otabil, Rockson Adofo and their likes cannot do the job alone when acting as individuals. They need the collective assistance of many Ghanaians including you the reader, your family and friends.

Fellow Ghanaians, now is the time to rise up to save Ghana for ourselves and the yet unborn generations. Posterity and the departed forebears will hold us accountable should we allow the country to collapse as all current signs point to.

Do we allow the likes of Kwaku Akosah, a Kumawu Ankaase family member residing in London to dissuade us from doing the right thing through pretences and intimidations? No! We should rather chase him into the forest behind the Kumawu palace, called “sofialine” (surveyor’s line) to manifest his animalism with the wild beasts living there. I do not think the monkeys, let alone the chimps, living in the forest, will associate themselves with this person because they may see him to be of lower I.Q.

Anyway, we have the obligation to save Ghana from stomach politicians whose vision of governance is clouded by corruption, selfishness and insatiable greediness.

When the price of petroleum products go up with the concomitant hike in transportation fares, the ordinary Ghanaian, be you a member of NDC, NPP, PPP, NDP etc., you pay the same rate of fare. There is no tag on your forehead to tell the driver or the driver’s mate that you belong to NDC so you have to pay less fare than the NPP, PPP, and NDP etc. member on the same bus.

When utility bill goes up, you pay the same rate like any other citizen in the country. You can only benefit from such price hikes only if you are a beneficiary of the ongoing official corruption in Ghana, making easy money like some well-placed NDC members.

When the country goes into dumsor, you suffer equally like any other ordinary citizen living in Ghana regardless of you being an NDC member, especially when you are just one of the teeming ordinary poor members. When the dumsor gives rise to armed robberies, regardless of which political party you are affiliated with, you stand the same misfortune of becoming a victim when the armed robbers strike with you happening to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Do you allow the likes of Dzifa Attivor, Asiedu Nketiah, Kuko Anyidoho, Kofi Adams, etc. to fool you into voting to keep President Mahama in power come 7th November 2016 election for them to continue to live affluent lives through official corruption while you on the other hand live in utter penury?

Please, do not be deceived anymore by the NDC propaganda. Let us face reality. Ghana is fast collapsing under President Mahama.

Despite our tribal, political and social differences, now is the best time to unite as one people to save Ghana from looming total collapse.

I count on you, oh dear fellow Ghanaian, to vote out President Mahama and the NDC party come election 2016. We should not allow Charlotte Osei, that corrupt and biased Chairperson of the Electoral Commission to have a field day on 7th November 2016. Let Ghanaians prove to her on that day that even though she could plan to rig the elections, Ghanaians who know better, have foiled her attempts.

Let us vote to get rid of those who have taken, and continue to take, Ghanaians, for big time fools!

Please, cogitate about the following self-explanatory quotation from the late Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia; “Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph”.

Let the content of the quotation be the light that guides your brains and feet in joining me to fight to liberate Ghana from the hands of the evil ones. We have to act. We have to speak out now that it matters most and surely, the evil shall vanquish.

Rockson Adofo
