Accra, May 3, GNA - Thousands of Huawei G Power devices have been sold in the Ghanaian market a few weeks after the launch since consumers have noticed that the phone could also be used as a power bank.

A statement copied to the GNA explained that the G Power could be used to charge other smartphone devices simply by connecting it to a USB port of any smartphone with a USB cable.

According to the statement, the G Power has eight in-built power saving technologies that maintain optimal battery power even after using it to charge other devices.

'With a 4000mAh battery capacity, the G Power gives normal users 90 hours of light use, 48 hours of heavy use, 39 hours of call time and 15 hours of non-stop web surfing.'

Mr Robin Sun, Country Manager for Device Business at Huawei Technologies, Ghana said: 'The Huawei G Power will give users the luxury of enjoying all the key features of their Smartphone devices, without bothering about the battery life.

'Users can also use the Huawei G Power for two days without charging,' he said.

The statement disclosed that Ms Caroline Sampson, a radio presenter who as part of the first 500 consumers of the device in Ghana wrote on her twitter page: 'Have been using my Huawei G Power device for over WO days without charging it, battery still strong.'

The statement noted that the dual-SIM device though a mid-range device, has several features of flagship devices.

It mentioned that it is enhanced for low light, has a 13-megapixel camera that makes it possible to take beautiful, high-quality photos during the day or at night and 5MP front camera for taking 'selfies' and other front-facing photos.

The G Power comes with a free phone cover and screen protector in-box and MTN users also get to enjoy free 4.8 GB data and 30hrs of talk time for one year.

Other devices such as Huawei Mate 8 and ShotX Smartphones were introduced into the Ghanaian market.
