Accra, May 1, GNA - Ghanaians have been called upon to exhibit high sense of faithfulness in all their endeavors in order to boost national development.

'Faithfulness is key to national development hence we must ensure that we remain faithful in every little thing that we do in order to promote national progress,' Right Revered Dr Setorwu Ofori, the Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, said.

Rev. Setorwu made the call during this year's Presbytery Conference held in all the 14 presbyteries of the Global Evangelical Church.

He said materialism seemed to be taking the better part of some Ghanaians making them to engage in all sorts of undignified activities that militated against the nation's forward march.

He said the church would set up a development fund to support projects of congregations to halt the current situation where they took loans from financial institutions at very high rates.

Rev. Setorwu said churches should be seen more as problem solvers than extortionists that only thought about benefiting from their members.

He said the Constitution of the Church was under-review and urged individuals, groups, ministries, sessions and associations to submit their request to the committee.

The leadership, the Moderator said, had come out with a strategic document to guide the new executives by way of a plan to direct the corporate effort of the church.

He said this year's synod would be held in August at the University of Ghana, Legon, under the theme: 'Thy Kingdom Come - Living the Kingdom Life'.

The various presbytery chairmen and conference delegates interacted with the executives during some questions and answer sessions to address their concerns.

Rev. Dr Setorwu, Rev. Rapheal Mac Attih, the Synod Clerk, Prof. Remmeil Adorsraku and Mrs Christie Bobobee, presbyters representing the Lay Executives on the Synod Committee, led delegations to visit the various presbyteries of the church in Accra, Tema, Kumasi, and Takoradi.

The rest are Koforidua, Kpando, Ho, Akatsi, Nkwanta, Jasikan, Tamale, Sogakofe and Hohoe presbyteries.
