Accra, April 29, GNA - Two persons were on Friday remanded by an Accra Circuit Court for conspiring and robbing one Oriowo Princess, a Musician of her Nokia Mobile phone worth GH¢ 80.00.

Gabriel Ashitey, Mechanic and Enoch Tetteh, Fisherman were said to have conspired and robbed their victim on April 24, at the Black Star Square around 1400 hours.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges but were remanded by the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandor into Police custody to reappear on May 13.

The facts of the case, as presented by Police Chief Inspector Kwabena Adu wast the complainant is a resident of Korlewoko, a suburb of Accra, while Gabriel is a fisherman and resides around the Post Office area, Accra, and Enoch is also fisherman who lives at James Town.

He said on April 24, at about 1400 hours the complainant was walking on the shoulders of the road around the Independence Square heading towards Osu whilst holding her Nokia mobile phone.

The prosecution said the accused person and one other person now at large on a motor bike drew closer to the complainant and stopped. Their accomplice got down from the bike and attacked the complainant.

He told the court that the complainant started shouting for help but he held her hand, twisted it and collected the mobile phone from her and threw her into a gutter, and sped off on the bike.

Police Chief Inspector Adu said a driver who was around the scene moved his taxi and started chasing them. He caught up with them at the CEPS Traffic light, Ministries and knocked them down.

The two accused persons were arrested and sent to the Ministries Police station whiles, their accomplice managed to escape.
