In an interview on Joy News' Pulse program, Counselor Lutterodt has clarified comments he made about marriage that has provoked of a backlash of criticisms on social media.

Counselor George Lutterodt said no one is compelled to believe or adhere to the advice he gives if they don’t agree with him.

He said he sees himself as an agent of change and is only doing his bit to save a society that is plagued with divorces since people have ignored the warning signs.

Speaking to the host of Pulse, Francis Abban on Friday, Rev Lutterodt said, “I am not putting anybody's head under my leg and pushing things in your head."

The Counselor who calls himself ‘Emotional Fixer’, has received a lot of criticism after he said among other things in a post on Facebook that "Never allow a poor man to marry you. A poor man's marriage will kill you early. And when you die you will go to hell."

He also said among other things that, “A man is not ready for marriage when he lives in 'obey the wind' self contain. 'Obey the wind' self contain is a room you partition with castoff curtains and you hold the middle with pecks and when the wind blows, you see chamber and hall."

"Report any man who says he will marry you but he does not have a room he (not they sleep) sleeps to the police and get him arrested,” was another comment of the counselor.

Most people following these comments have called him a fake man of God and questioned his intellect.

The Ghana Psychological Association have come out to say he is not registered with them and that his comments are “misleading the public and causing tension.”

But he says he is not a psychologist but a registered counselor so the criticism is out of place and that he is an absolute professional.

Rev Lutterodt says he is not bothered by the criticisms maintaining that he is doing the work of God and nothing will stop him.

He said he stands by everything he has said, adding “I am an agent of change sent by God.”

He insists that “No woman should allow a poor man to marry her. A poor man is a man who cannot feed himself plus a common snack. If you can’t do this, you’re not qualified for marriage. If you cannot feed yourself, can you feed somebody?” he queried.

He said men should only marry when they can feed themselves adding that it is a shame to have women run homes.

“Our country is running slowly because the blessing of marriage is not coming because we have refused to tell them the truth,” he said.
