Mr. Jacob Aaworb-Nang Maabobr Kor, Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES), has commended workers for their hard work and dedication to duties over the years.

Mr. Jacob Kor, in an interview prior to this year's Workers' Day celebration, indicated that workers have mostly proved beyond doubts that they are prepared to take the destiny of the country into their hands, and said, "Let us continue to work hard so that Ghana can get to the level where we want it to be."

Mr. Kor advised parents and guardians to use the occasion to forge effective ways of supporting the task of providing quality education to children even if they are confronted with busy schedules at workplaces.

"We must always attend to our children's education and welfare very well no matter how busy our work schedules are. I wish all workers, especially my colleague teachers and staff of Ghana Education Service well as we celebrate this Day", he stated.

May Day, officially known as International Workers' Day, is marked on May 1 and celebrated by labour and the working classes.
