Widow of 34-year-old man who beheaded his son and committed suicide, says her husband showed no sign of being capable of murder.

Their marital conflicts did not go beyond heated verbal disagreements, the widow, Millicent Adjei, told Adom News' Araba Aggrey.

The deceased, Philip Dzakpasu slit the throat of his son, Kelvin Mawuli Dzakpasu, in his sleep.

He hanged himself after committing the gruesome act. It is still unclear the motive behind his action.

The suicide and murder have left the community shocked.

The deceased person was said to have lost his job, and had problems with the wife and is alleged to have previously threatened to kill the woman.

She, however, denies accounts of neighbours who claim her husband had beaten and threatened to kill her several times in the past.

“It is a lie. When a problem comes everyone says what they like. He has never threatened me.”

“We don’t have any problems, but every marriage has problems and there are always fights, but we didn’t fight that day”, Millicent recounted.

Narrating events leading to the gruesome murder, Millicent said she left her son with his father to visit her grandmother who had sent for her. It was on her return that she was informed about the incident.
