Manang (Ash), April 28, GNA - Vice President Paa Kwasi Amissah-Arthur has encouraged every young person of the voting age to take advantage of the limited voters' registration exercise to get their names in the electoral roll.

That, he said, was important to enable them to exercise their civic responsibility of electing competent people to lead the nation.

He was speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people of Manang, a farming community in the Adansi South District.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur had earlier inspected the site for a modern sports stadium at New-Edubiase, the district capital.

He called for all to get right with the law to make the exercise peaceful and successful.

He used the occasion to highlight the achievements, citing what he said was massive infrastructure development across the country.

He stated that it had kept faith with the people and expressed optimism that voters would reward this and renew its mandate in November.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur thanked the people in the area for standing solidly behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and rallied them to continue to support the party.

They should remain unwavering and continue to trust President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidates with their votes.

He urged chiefs to lead efforts at helping to keep the nation united and prevent needless tension as the people prepared to go to the polls in November.

Mr. John Alexander Ackon, the Ashanti Regional Minister, asked members and supporters of the NDC to work hard to return it to power.

They should overcome complacency and loudly tell the success story of the government.

He gave the assurance that a health centre would be built for the community and the local basic school refurbished.

Nana Kofi Kofi Bona, the chief, appealed for the construction of a five-kilometer road linking Manang with the district capital, New Edubiase.
