Offinso (Ash), April 26, GNA - A teacher at the Namong Senior High School (SHS), Mr. Abdul Rahim Seidu, has been elected by the People's National Convention (PNC) as parliamentary candidate for the Offinso South.

This was at the party's delegates' conference held at Offinso, at the week end.

His election was by popular acclamation as he was the only candidate to have filed his nomination.

The PNC's Ashanti Regional Secretary, Mr. Seidu Suleman, said the party has now the full complement of candidates to contest the coming parliamentary election in all the 47 constituencies in the region.

Fifteen of them are women, he expressed optimism that it would win at least five seats in Ashanti, which has traditionally voted for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

These include Subin, Asawase, Manhyia North, Offinso-South and Ahafo-Ano North.

Mr. Suleman called for hard work, loyalty and sacrifice by the members and supporters to win political power and end the economic suffering of Ghanaians.

They should go from house-to-house to win over more voters and broaden its support base.

He hinted that the party's election manifesto would be officially launched in early next month.

Mr. Suleman urged the electorate to critically examine the campaign promises of the various parties and to make the right judgment on voting day.
