Accra , April 25, GNA - The Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGL) has launched onto the beverage market a fresh brand - 'Guinness Africa Special,' blended with African herbs and spices tailored to satisfy specific desires of Africans.

The herbs and spices infused in the newest brand would give an exclusive lip-smacking indigenous African flavour to its cherished patrons.

The spices infused in the exquisite drink include lemon grass, vanilla, cola nut, cayenne pepper and ginger.

'This is our own, this black brew is made from herbs and spices grown in our soil, giving it a vibrant refreshing taste that is alive with the spirit of Africa,' Mr Kweku Skyi-Cann, Marketing Manager, said at the launch in Accra.

'As an iconic business, we are proud to set the pace that is why we are always innovating to meet the ever dynamic needs of our cherished consumers.'

'Today, is another example of such pace-setting innovation, as we witness the newest, biggest addition to the Guinness family, this is our gift to Africa,' he said.

Providing a background to the 'ground-breaking' product, Mr Skyi-Cann said about a year ago, a group of young creative Africans were assembled and asked to rouse the taste, look and branding of a new beer.

'Their findings gave birth to 'Guinness Africa Special', a brand that reflects aspects of our culture, the timeless reality of our past and the exuberant vitality of today's African,' he said.

Mr Francis Agbonlahor, Managing Director of GGL, said as market leaders, the company was always guided by its core targets to boost and accelerate premium core brands and innovate to meet renewed consumer needs.

He said it would build and constantly extend the brands advantage to consumers, saying 'Guinness African Special is the result of such focused target setting.'

The product packed in bottle sizes of 330ml and 500ml set to be launched in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, as part of GGL marketing drive to make it readily available to consumers countrywide.

Two of Ghana's Dance hall Artistes, Shatta Wale and Episode, were the toast of hundreds of patrons to the World Trade Center to witness the spectacular outdooring of GGL newest brand - 'Guinness Africa special'.

The country's only total beverage company, GGL, prides itself as home of quality beverages, producing varieties of spirits, beers, and ready to drinks to non-alcoholic drinks.

GGL is the Ghanaian affiliate of Diageo, the world leading premium drinks business listed on both the New York and London Stock Exchanges.
