YESTERDAY SYMPATHISERSconverged on the forecourt of the State House to bid farewell to Hon JB Danquah.

We join the mourners who turned up in their numbers to pray for the soul of the deceased as his remains get closer to its last resting place.

It was a genuine expression of grief for the man whose death still remains a security conundrum.

For JB, the day is over and night has already eclipsed his ephemeral sojourn on earth, which is why we are grieving.

He led a good life during his time on earth before returning to his Maker. This is evidenced by the almost countrywide mourning of his death.

The murderers only managed to destroy the vehicle in which his soul resided. The soul has returned to its Maker as the mortal remains head for the grave, and therefore earth, from which it was made as the scriptures tell us.

Although we are grieving for his life, the Maker who created him knows best. Even as we recall what happened, let us reflect on the contents of the scriptures regarding life and death and be consoled.

So many days after the dastardly act was visited on the deceased, not much has happened by way of bringing a closure to this dark chapter in the history of our country.

What the families of murdered persons need more than anything else is a closure to this dark chapter, which can only come when those behind the murder are brought to book.

The family of JB Danquah need that closure which would trigger the necessary process of healing.

The pain inflicted by the rude shock occasioned by the manner in which the former legislator was murdered requires this closure because the family has endured too much anguish and must be spared further suffering.

Speculations and mistrust appear to have muddied the story of JB. The wheel of justice is slow but before it can even be activated, it must be fed with the necessary ingredients from those in charge of investigations, without which interpreters of the law can do only little or nothing at all.

It is our prayer, therefore, that those in charge of seeking the truth behind what happened are given the necessary wisdom and strength to do their work for God and country.

The investigations into the death of JB should not be stalled in anyway. Those in charge of it should be left alone to carry on with their work as best as they can.

Let us all resolve to assist with all information that would be needed to expedite action on the murder of JB.

This way, we would be working towards the ultimate goal of activating the process of healing for the bereaved family.
