Airtel Ghana grooms young talents at career fairs

Airtel Ghana, the smartphone network has collaborated with three tertiary institutions to groom young talents at career fairs organised across three campuses in Accra.

Airtel Ghana was joined by other organisations at the Fairs held on the campuses of the University of Ghana, Legon, Ashesi University and the Ghana Telecom University to engage, empower and prepare young talents for the world of work.

The team from Airtel Ghana interacted with over 400 high performing students from the three Universities through one-on-one sessions, CV preparations and presentations on what employers look for in prospective employees.

The students also participated in competitions and simulations that saw some of them winning mobile phone devices and data and voice packages from the Smartphone Network as well as an opportunity to intern with the company.

At the Ashesi University, the students participated in speed interviews, elevator pitching, personal branding and the Best CV competitions. These competitions and simulations were organized to give the students a feel of the professional world and how to respond to the demands that come with it.

Students from the University of Ghana keenly participated in the Corporate Icon Competition where they were tested on CV writing and interviewing skills. During the session, the winner of last year’s competition, Dawud Yakubu, who is now a National Service Personnel and part of the Graduate Training programme with Airtel shared his experience with participants.

These career fairs are an integral part of our programmes every year and we will continue to collaborate with the tertiary institutions in the country to bridge the gap between academia and industry”.
