Is UDS Wa Campus A Real University?
18.03.2016 LISTEN

This has been the most trigging question on the mind of every student in UDS, Wa campus and for that matter School of Business and Law.

In my course of studies, I have come to realize that, no matter how hard we tend to deal with students, student management and school management conflct completely, it still persist. Not withstanding the fact that conflict itself is inevitable. I wonder if our welfare is in the heart of our leaders? Sometimes it is hard to believe that there is something called management. A full university without white marker boards, no sound systems, a very dirty learning environment, no alternative power plant and countless of them. Yet, at the end of the day we are expected to come out as graduates to face the corporate world.

Honestly speaking, I nearly stood up to shout with an aggressive and demo chanting tone on the 17th March, 2016 when all SBL level 300s were combine for research methods II ( Quantitative) Lecture. Meanwhile, there is no sound system, no marker board etc yet, the Lecturer has to shout on top of his voice to lecture about 2000 students which comprises students offering different programs such as Integrated Business Studies, Accounting and finance, Bachelor of Commerce, Integrated Management Studies and Accounting. I pity us. Share our grief.

The SRC is the worse offender of all. Can you imagine the over bloated SRC week celebration budget on unnecessary things? Anybody who reads this should see it as an aggressive mood for extending this to citi, Joynews and other media houses. Students management and school management shouldn't be surprise hearing a knock on their doors. The whole world would come to UDS, WA CAMPUS and see for themselves.

I recall in 2014 seeing the Vice President of Ghana, in the person of H. E Amissah Arthur coming for that year's graduation ceremony and I wonder if he saw our campus. Please don't let us feel rejected because of our geographical location. We are part of Ghana's universities and we deserve better at least if not the best.
