THE THING BE SAY, WE FOR KILL THE MENTAL DUMSOR.... OR?
07.03.2016 LISTEN

I had a dream. In it, I saw God ask His son Jesus if He could come down and save Ghana. So Jesus turned and asked me what I thought. I pondered and asked him, “did you see the mistakes in the national and regional brochures of the 59th Independence celebrations?” unsure where I was heading with it He answered “Yes my son” So I said to Him - “My brother, I know you are Jesus, but you will die of heart attack waaii”

The point is this: it’s about time we stop massaging our minds that “God will help us” – He already did when He gave us more Gold than we needed, more fertile grounds than we needed, more natural resources and brains than we needed. What is left is for us to WAKE up to the reality that – IT IS TIME TO DO OUR BIT.

In my view, here are 5 top ways of thinking that if we don’t align ourselves to as a nation, I guarantee we’ll need another 60 years to catch up with the world or position ourselves in it:

1. We need to understand Ghana is NOT an isolated piece of Island and the globe affects Ghana. The globe, for the next 50+ years will be ruled by Knowledge, Creativity and Speed. Yes we are in a world of Knowledge, Creativity and Speed. It means anything and everything we can ever call EDUCATION should be positioning or equipping all Ghanaians to (i) have full knowledge (ii) be immersed in knowledge (iii) be able to create new knowledge (iv) be able to readily access knowledge (v) be able to creatively use knowledge to create what never was (vii) be able to use knowledge to solve todays and tomorrow’s problems (viii) be able to DO all the above with speed. If we don’t understand this – We are NOT doing Education.

2. We have gone past the agriculture and mass industrial ages. For the next 60 more years, it will be technology and after that, biological genetics. WE as a nation need to understand that for us to make any URGENT progress – EVERYTHING has to be HEAVILY TECHNOLOGIZED. No, it’s not just about buying computers. It means our economy has to become cashless; our schools through technology should be spending everyday connecting and interacting with the rest of the world and becoming global knowledge brokers and NOT local chew and pour champions; It means indiscipline in our society has to be captured and punished using technology; it means the ministry of finance should at any point in any day, know how much funds the country has within any ministry and local government account. Yes, it means our agriculture has to be powered by latest technology. Technology, is basically us doing what we need to do in a shorter time and with better results than traditional approach – UNLESS of course we don’t see the urgency of our stagnation.

3. As a government, the minds of our leaders need to grasp 2 very very very basic truths (i) Government is not meant for the mentally deficient. It is to be filled with the wittiest and brainiest that Ghana has to offer, people who understand how the world works and above all whose brains are naturally wired to access the future before others can. Yes I said it. And (ii) Every country is at war and that those who fail to fight are those that become prey. They need to understand that the new war is not with guns and tanks in which both countries engaged suffer loss. The new wars are financial and economic, it is subtle and it is so that one party profits and the other loses. All I am trying to say is this – today’s government is about surviving by out-thinking everybody else for economic gain – NOT how to dupe our own citizens. We must out-think the excessive borrowing that keep us enslaved, the trade policies that keep us dependent, the economic priorities that keep us eternally exposed. We must out-think.

4. Next, Diplomacy or International policy is NOT about being in bed with who we can beg or who can loan us money. If our Governments don’t get that right, then we are doomed irrespective of our domestic success. International Policy should be about Greed. The greed to see Ghana do well whatever it takes. It’s a profit mindset – the mindset to go out and HUNT for the best deals or opportunities for Ghana irrespective of who loses out, as long as it’s NOT Ghana

5. Finally finally finally – Christianity is supposed to be bring us to abundance and realisation. If it isn’t, then indeed we are not a Christian Nation. Yes there will be troubles and challenges, but our Christianity is supposed to give us more wins than losses. If it doesn’t, then what exactly was the use of Christ winning ALL on the cross. If it is always the fault of Demons, surely we wont see past demons to solve our problems. Surely if it is all Faith, it means we need to fold our arms and let faith do it all. Surely if we say it is ALL in the hands of God – what will inspire us to wrestle it out of God’s hands? If our Christianity is NOT teaching us to be WISE as God is, to be CREATIVE as God is, to SEE into the future as God does, to ASPIRE to greatness as God is – then we have believed the greatest LIE of our time – that we were created in the image of God. Our minds must question why our brands of Christianity does not make us like God to others - Exodus 7:1

We are far behind as a nation and until we think critically about where we are, and creatively about how to catch up with the world, we would need another 59 years to make a footprint on the globe.
