We’ll Flush Out Traitors In CPP - Dele

The national chairman of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has given the strongest indication that the party will not hesitate to "sweep away" apostates with intent to cause disunity in the party.

Professor Edmond Dele was speaking in Tamale in the Northern region to give thanks and also show appreciation for their election into office to stir the affairs of the party into the 2016 elections.

The chairman in calling for unity and support behind the newly elected torchbearer, Ivor Greenstreet, said the CPP will not condone acts by internal saboteurs who are bent on destroying the success of the party.

“The problems of the CPP as I mentioned come from within and not without, we must brace ourselves together and join ourselves and don't let any traitor come and destroy the unity we are trying to build. All evil spirits shall be buried in Tamale here,” Dele declared.

The CPP suffered rather a short internal squabble when Samia Yaaba Nkrumah after losing the flagbearer contest accused Greenstreet of vote-buying. Samia has since refused to congratulate Greenstreet for his victory.

Speaking at the event, Greenstreet said he would revive the seemingly dying spirit of the CPP and advised the people to vote for him since he was more northerner than the presidential candidate of the NDC John Mahama.

“We are here to send a message to the whole of Ghana loud and clear that the CPP is born again and alive and kicking. You know we have had our problems in the past and because of that we know that you at the grassroots of the party have not been happy,” the former General Secretary of the party said.

He added: “Now we are united as a team to carry out this task but this task cannot be achieved without organisation so while we are here to thank you we are going to have a quick meeting to discuss our strategy about how we are going to organize ourselves in the Northern region so that by the time the election comes the whole of Ghana will know that the Northerner who was contesting in this election was not John Dramani Mahama but Ivor Kwabena Greenstreet because you know I have been coming to you whether at Kpandai or at Wulensi or at Saboba or at Bole or at Damango or at Yabaga Kobori and now we are going to be with you day and night.”
