Accra, Feb. 13, GNA - Mr Austin A. Gamey, Chief Executive Officer of Gamey and Gamey Group, says conflicts, if not resolved or managed, can lead to further conflicts.

To this end, Mr Gamey has called for the need to train and develop people who would be in leadership positions to practice needed techniques that could deal effectively with such conflicts.

That is why Negotiation, Mediation and in other words Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), has become a professional and practical Master of ADR programme designed by the Gamey and Gamey ADR Institute, Mr Gamey said at the 17th graduation of Master of ADR held in Accra on Saturday.

He said the Institute also seeks to create opportunities for the development of ADR professionals of good quality.

Mr Gamey said the training and development section of Gamey and Gamey group was committed to the training of ADR professionals in leadership and organizational effectiveness.

'To help build strong and diverse leaders capable of responding to the growing leadership needs of the communities on the continent of Africa within this 25 weeks is our primary goal,' he said.

Mr Gamey said subject areas to be covered by the new 20 fresh students has been enhanced and 'there have also been additions to the members of the faculty who will be handling the topics'.

'All these innovations have been brought about by the fact that the Gamey Group recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the University of Virgin Island for its Leadership and Organisational Effectiveness' Pulse Programme,' he said.

Mr Gamey said the agreement seeks to redirect and also propel the affairs of both parties to reach higher pinnacles and urged the new students to fulfill their purpose of enrolling and be willing to study their extensive programme assiduously.

'We challenge you to be willing to read, study and ask questions, always try to ask questions,' he advised.

Mr Gamey congratulated the 17th gradaunts of the Master of ADR programme and urged them to use the knowledge acquired throughout their study to negotiate, mediate and be agents of dispute resolution wherever they found themselves.

Mrs Vida Agyekum Acheampong, a Legal Practitioner and President of the graduating class, urged colleague gradaunts to go out there and make the difference felt as their experiences acquired over the 25 weeks of their studies are unmatched.

'Let us be agents of change affecting lives and impacting society positively,' she said.

She also advised the fresh students to put in their hands a potential tool for the resolution of societal problems adding that 'Law courts helps in many ways but is not every issue can be resolved; as mediators in the making, help to solve problems of the citizenry'.

In all 27 students graduated for the 2015 Master of ADR programme and certificates and testimonials were also presented to them.
