The Nonsense Must Stop

The Nonsense Must Stop
13.02.2016 LISTEN

Since assuming power, Chairman Afoko of New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been able to unmask mind-boggling bags of corruption under the past regimes and since put in stringent measures to safeguard the treasury of the party. Such heartless looting of the party’s wealth has resulted to loss of several elections and thousands of human lives as well as serious economic crisis and ought to be condemned by all, regardless of the factional or tribal shade.

Yet, typically expected at this juncture from the Akufo Addo apologists is the mundane mumbling of vendetta, selective justice or what have you. What eventually woke me up is the salvo from the Nana Addos, equating the plan suspension of Afoko and Co to war against indiscipline rather than admitting it is witch-hunt. But this piece is set to compel the idle narratives to finally rest in peace.

First and foremost, the critics of Afoko’s war against corruption cannot in their right senses moot the idea that the culprits did not loot or divert the party funds. They cannot in a straight face suggest that the looters did the right thing. Not surprisingly, rather than welcome the singular will to confront the criminals, the critics have opted to go after the Chairman, stoking the flames of resentment as well as ridicule, however feigned.

The testament for NPP’s pattern of impunity is not difficult to fathom. It is not a coincidence that the indicted loyalists of Nana Addo are promoted while those perceived to be anti-Akufo Addo are maligned and suspended.

The first job of every leadership is to love people; leadership without love is manipulation. Dissents are regularly roasted alive, wives turned to sex slaves, teenage girls raped and saturated and throats of fathers slit while their sons watch, all because leadership failed to sincerely address the root cause of uprising.

This is not about Kuffour or Akufo-Addo, Dombo or Dankwah, I am not talking about Victor Owusu here, but about failure of leadership to understand that commoners voted for better NPP but are being used as pawns to siphon funds. Corrupt leaders need more commoners slain to create emergency situations to access funds. Is this the kind of people my yet to be born Children will read about in the future and be proud to be called NPP and for that matter Ghanaians?

Our traumatized youths are quartered in social media camps in various parts of party. Among them are Christians, Muslims and Traditionalists. They all have one question in common - why has leadership failed to recognize that lives of ordinary people matter too? There are many innocent Children who heard of NPP and wished to get free education, some heard of J.A Kuffour of NPP and wished to learn to stand for unity of Ghana, some heard of Paul Afoko and wished to see a better Northern Chairman but these Children are saddened by the failure of leadership to protect the innocent and save the dreams of the Children.

In the past Children played together in open fields and shared dreams. Children in Kumasi spoke Ashanti as common language. Children in Tamale spoke Dagbani as common language. Children in Ho spoke Ewe as common language. Children didn’t know tribe and religion or political party, they didn’t know faction. They went to school and enjoyed public facilities. In the public schools, the Children were celebrated for their gifts in sports or academics not their fathers money or name.

Failure of leadership created the huge gap between rich and poor and made it glaring that it was a curse to be poor in New Patriotic Party; it is a heinous sin not to be a Lawyer under Akufo-Addo despite being overly gifted and hardworking. Failure of leadership told poor Children that communal excellence was not necessary and merit was disgusting as the best was reserved for the elite not the endowed, honest and hardworking. The gully between the erudite and unschooled has widened because the greed of the failed leaders are unquenchable.

No one saw the pain of poor parents who sold everything to train just one graduate with high expectation that he or she will get a job and assist in raising his siblings but was trampled to death in the economic hardship bestowed on us by our greedy leaders. Failure of leadership quenched the light of hope of the poor like candle in the wind. Youths who survived being trampled have not survived the shock of disbelief that leadership setup electoral scam to fleece them of votes they do not have. Many parents watch their graduate youths become ‘Okada operators’ and constantly harangued by police and treated like scumbags.

The Whites make sarcastic remarks about failed leadership in Africa and these shameless leaders ignore the harsh truth and call them white faced, pink nose racist.

NPP has only succeeded in banding huge figures of graft but obtained very few convictions because failure of leadership exempts many from facing the justice as they are members of cult of failures who see nothing wrong in corruption as long as the corrupt is on their side.

Failure of leadership did not allow our myopic leaders to see need to build new things and stop the personality cult, equip constituencies and stop foreign campaign tours, equip party executives and save constituencies from being exploited, build functional constituency offices to encourage industrialization and employment generation.

Have any considered the number of votes lost and financial losses along the internal commotion express way - the only gateway to unity and victory of the party? , Failure of leadership has not allowed leaders to convoke a meeting to address needs of the party but is constantly scouting for avenues to vent their frustration. The anger of the youth will explode sooner than later and it will be worse than Bolgatanga Bull Dogs and Invincible Force crossfire and more lethal than Arab Springs revolution because the disgruntled aspirants, vilified and angry youths know the addresses of their leaders and they will go after them and roast them alive when the unrest erupts.

Ghanaians should build a hall of shame and put names and pictures of the failed, corrupt leaders in all fields in their sitting rooms. This will immortalize their evil deeds. These men hide behind faction, tribe and politics to manipulate ordinary Ghanaians to fight themselves while they loot our treasury. This nonsense must stop. I am a Ghanaian. So are you. In our driver’s license and international passports, there is no tribe, faction, religion or political party.

This nonsense must stop. Pray for Moshi. Pray for all the suspended executives to avoid total psychological breakdown. They all need our love, and you need their votes too.

Akufo Addo is our flagbearer now; Your Excellency, please preside over affairs of NPP like a nation. Ignore hate mongers. Woo the North, Volta and Brong Ahafo; lure the rest of the regions to think that you are the best. You have won the presidential primaries. No more politicking. Corruption is heinous crime because it is the mother of all crimes. Let the party’s constitution be upheld in punishment of lawbreakers but work towards better policies and united Ghana. Don’t allow ethnic intolerance reigns supreme in you like Kennedy Agyapong, Atta Akea and Osafo Mafo.

The Bulsa, Ewe, Ga and Krobo youths want you to do things to prove the critiques who said you hate other tribes wrong. You have your fans around you; remember voice of NPP majority is not the voice of all Ghanaians.

Bible asked Christians to pray for leaders. Bible did not say pray for your leader if he is a believer and from your ethnic group or political party. Bible said Pray for the leader.

Slander is evil. It is the worst you can do to anyone. Politicians have slandered each other and the leaders of the regions have brought in youths as canon fodders for the fight and it has led to tribal hate. There is grave danger ahead if this is not curbed. I am a Ghanaian, not a Togolese. I love Ghana.

Togo passport makes a Ghanaian in Togo a citizen by law not by blood. Real Togolese know us as Ghanaians living legally in Togo not as Togolese. A functional Ghana is the best place to be for all Ghanaians.

His Excellency, if you can ask John Mahama for the actual cost of projects he has undertook, can’t you ask for list of donors at fundraisings? When would you ask Abankwa and Blay to show you where they stashed their ill-gotten money, we need these men punished. They have wasted far too many funds to be spared one extra day. We need them investigated, tried, convicted and hanged. They deserve nothing less than hanging for the crimes against NPP.

When due process fails, jungle justice will rise. Watch and see. Lies have expiry date. Soon wool pulled over the eyes of Ghanaians by failed leadership will be taken off and the corrupt will be brought to jungle justice.

To the corrupt I say this as a prophet: return our stolen money and save yourself and family, else the wrath of the people will fall on you soon. The sick can exercise patience with the doctor, but not the hungry with the cook because he will go to check if it is stone that is being boiled or yam. The hunger is increasing, so is the anger.

Anger is brewing. Just watch and see. No hiding for the wicked, corrupt. You are known. Your addresses give you out.
