I Will Unseat Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuije

The Odododiodioo seat is one of the hottest and keenly contested seats in the Country. The NDC has won the seat 5 times since 1992 and once by the NPP in 2000. Unfortunately, the youth, women and children in the Constituency are yet to benefit from two political parties, the NDC and the NPP, in terms of, Youth Employment, Economic development, Education, sports and Entertainment.

In 2012, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije at Bokom Square made a number of convincing promises in which he succeeded in deceiving the youth to win the seat for the first time with over 45,000 votes as against a little over 26,000 gained by the NPP.

Prior to the elections, he made a number of promises which included the following: transforming the James Town Maternity home into a modern three – storey health care delivery centre, Establishing a Sport Academy for the youth here in Odododiodioo, Setting up an independent Scholarship scheme to promote Education, make Odododiodioo environmentally clean and hygienic through a promised sanitation initiatives to promote good health and healthy environment

I am disappointed to announce today that, Hon. Nii Lantey has virtually failed to honor the above mentioned promises made to the youth and the people, and by all indications have failed willfully and does not deserve another term in office to represent the people. His anti youth policies brings his newly appointment political portfolio as the Minister designate for Youth and Sports into question.

The poor performance exhibited by Hon. Nii Lantey, as a seating MP has exacerbated the hardship of the people; Education is worse off; Sports and Entertainment is not anything good to write home about, though he is a professional sports man. It is however sad to know that Agbogbloshie is still considered to be the most dirtiest place on the planet earth

Odododiodioo constituency, today, needs a vibrant, a visionary, a thinker, and a problem solver to salvage the people from their economic hardship and joblessness, which Hon. Nii Lantey has failed to address in his three- year term in office as an MP and a representative of the people. I wonder how he would connect to the youth and perform as heads the Ministry of Youth and Sports as Minister designate for Youth and Sports if he is not in touch with the youth as in a typical case as in Odododiodioo.

I have lived in Odododiodioo for 24yrs, and in all these years, I have come to study, and better understand the people and know their needs preferences, and the best possible ways to solve the problem and reduce unemployment among the people especially the youth.

I will create jobs, empower people, and build the human resources of the constituency when given the opportunity to serve.

The Massive failure on the part the seating MP and the outgoing Deputy Minister, for Local Government is enough to get him removed to usher in a more viable and hardworking person like my good self to continue with the job to bring hope and development to the people.

Change is coming. A change all can feel and be part of.
