ASSAY Ministries Fun Games To Be Held In Kumasi

The ASSAY Ministries Fun Games, often simply called the ASSAY Games, is an inter-Adventist Youth Society games for the seven Adventist Senior High Schools within the Ashanti Region of Ghana. This competition is contested by only the members of the member societies of the Adventist Senior High Schools Association of Youth Ministries (ASSAY Ministries). The games are contested in two categories (Girls and Boys).

The championship has been awarded every years since the inaugural tournament in 2012 . The current champion for the Girls’ side is KESDASS AY – Kenyasi and that for the Boys’ side is ADASS AY – Bantama. Aside these, there is a Bible Quiz competition that takes place between the various schools and the current champion is ADASS AY – Bantama.

Over the years the reoccurring champions for these trophies was between either ADGISS AY – Ntonso or SDASS – Bekwai until they both underperformed last year to give KESDASS AY and ADASS AY the chance to put their names in the history. Other member societies like AGASS AY – Agona, KASTECH AY – Kofiase and PASDASS AY – Patransa still look forward to make history one day.

This event started with activities like Bible Quiz, Volley Ball, Table Tennis, Ludo, Dame, Oware, 100 meters race, 400 meters race, 4*100 meters race, Lime and Spoon, Tug of Peace, Eating Competition, Sack race and Smart Dressing but currently, the activities have been sieved upon many considerations to remain only the Bible Quiz, Volley Ball, Sack Race, Tug of Peace, 100 meters race and 4*100 meters race.

This year, The 5^th edition of the ASSAY Games will be hosted by Adventist Girls Senior High School at the School’s Field on Sunday, 14^th February, 2016 from 8am to 3pm with the participating AY societies still being SDA Senior High School (SDASS) – Bekwai, Agona SDA Senior High School (AGASS) – Agona, Adventist Day Senior High School (ADASS) – Bantama, Adventist Girls Senior High School (ADGISS) – Ntonso, Kenyasi SDA Senior High School (KESDASS) – Kenyasi, Kofiase Adventist Senior High School (KASTECH) – Kofiase and Patriansa SDA Senior High School (PASDASS) – Patransa.

This fraternal games is being organized under the auspices of the SDA Educational Unit, The Youth Departments of NGUM, SCGC, ASGC, MVGC, ACGC and MCGC. This year, the ASSAY Games will host the Ashanti Regional Manager of SDA Educational Unit, all the various Heads of the member schools, all the Youth Directors of the member conferences and all the School Chaplains of the various member schools as Special Guests.

Some of the officiators of this year’s games include Ps. Elilplim Zanthia Lobo (Quiz Examiner), Com Ossei Tutu Emmanuel, Com. Festus Boateng, Com. Ernest Frimpong, Bro. Kwadwo Boahen Douglas, Com. Agyei Yaw Collins, Bro. Charles Konadu, Com. Kwadwo Boahen and Com. Asante Eric. ASSAY Games is the widely attended event among all the ASSAY events for a year.

ASSAY Ministries is led by Com. Ps. Thompson O. Tachie, Com. Kwabena Frimpong, Com. Daniel Latam, Com. Samuel Takyi, Com. Grace Amissah, Com. Prudent O. Frimpong, Com. Kwaku Asante, Com. Ps. Emmanuel Brefo, Com. Ps. Israel Oheneba Bobie and Com. Kofi Gyimah.
