Ghanaians, Ivoirians In Joint Celebration

PEOPLE FROM Jaman North especially Suma Ahenkro and its surrounding towns and villages near Sampah whose brothers and sisters are Ivoirians but due to partition of West Africa by colonialists had remained in Cote d'Ivoire have resolved to come together and celebrate one festival as a way of reunification.

The paramount chief of Suma Traditional Area, Odeneho Dr. Affram  Brepong II disclose this during the launch of the 2016 Akwantu Kese Festival which comes off in March this year.

At the launch, Odeneho Dr. Affram intimated that due to the historical blood relation between the Bono tribe and their Ivorian counterparts, they have decided to celebrate the festival together. President, John Dramani  Mahama and his Ivorian counterpart , Alassane Ouattara will attend. Former presidents Agyekum Kuffour, John Rawlings and the NPP leader, Nana Kuffo Addo are all expected to grace the occasion. They will receive Suma State Adinkra Awards for playing different roles in the development of the area.  Some chiefs in both countries will also attend. The theme for the occasion is, 'Culture, Education and Development.'

According to the king, history has it that Adinkra symbols known in Ghanaian culture originated from them so they will commission a cultural centre which will be called Adinkra Village where the youth will be trained in the handicraft.

Odeneho Affram calls on his people both home and abroad to come for the homecoming to make it grand.
