Sakawa Boy Kills One In Tamale

Some angry youth of Changli, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region, on Sunday reportedly burnt an unregistered private Toyota Corolla saloon car belonging to an alleged sakawa boy (cyber fraudster) to ashes after he had crashed into a motorbike rider and his two sons, killing one on the spot.

An eyewitness, Alhassan Nureedeen, who narrated the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said at about 12am some youngsters were sitting at a popular base close to the roadside, near the Tamale Teaching Hospital, when they saw a car at top speed ram into the man, only identified as Afa Olu, and his two children, killing one of them on the spot.

He indicated that the sakawa boy upon, realizing the ghoulish act he had committed, absconded and left behind the vehicle.

According to Alhassan, the alleged sakawa boy by name Adam Issah, left a huge amount of money, drugs, sim cards, sachets of alcoholic beverage and needles in the car, which angered the youth to set the vehicle ablaze.

The body of the killed child has since been deposited at the Tamale Hospital for autopsy while the injured rider and the other son are receiving treatment.

The youth of the area have since vowed to fish out this purported sakawa boy and deal with him to serve as a deterrent to his colleagues.

The car was awaiting evacuation by the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service whiles investigation into the matter continued.
