RESEARCHERS have revealed great news for women with junk in the trunk after finding big bums bring big benefits for your health.

A study from the University of Oxford has suggested that women with a disproportionately large derriere have a better resistance to some health complaints than everyone else.

The research was conducted a few years ago, and saw cheeky scientists analyse 16,000 women's bums – in the name of science, of course.

And the bottom line is that women with big bums are extremely resistant to chronic illness.

Lead researcher Konstantinos Manolopoulos said: “The idea that body fat distribution is important to health has been known for some time.

“However, it is only very recently that thigh fat and a large hip circumference have been shown to promote health; that lower body fat is protective by itself.

“The study analysed data from 16,000 women and it indicated those with larger bums usually had lower levels of glucose and cholesterol, while keeping hold of higher levels of Omega-3 fats- which are super good for you.”

These women were also found to have higher levels of hunger-preventing hormones, which leads to lower levels of obesity.
