Accra, Feb. 2, GNA - The staff of the Finance Department of Stanbic Ghana has presented a number of items to the Dzorwulu Special School in Accra, as part of the Bank's corporate social responsibility.

The staff contribution was matched with an equal response from the Bank and the donation included 100 pieces of mattresses, school uniforms and treated mosquito nets.

The donation was in response to a request made by the school to the Bank.

In appreciation of the support, inmates of the school performed an azonto dance choreography to entertain the staff and the few gathered guests.

Mr Kunle Adedeji, Chief Financial Officer, Stanbic Bank, said the Bank had in its small way been contributing in diverse ways to support the underprivileged in the society.

He said besides the Dzorwulu Special School, the Bank has identified others across the country and would provide them with the necessary support to enhance their work.

Mr Adedeji said it was in this direction that Stanbic Bank set aside one per cent of its annual profit to support community development and humanitarian projects.

He said the Bank was committed to support the well-being and economic development of the less-endowed and vulnerable.

Mr Frederick Tetteh, the Assistant headmaster of Dzorwulu Special School, said Stanbic''s quick response to their request reaffirmed the Bank's commitment to support everyone in society, irrespective of the person's status.

He said the school, with a total population of 167 students, requires the support from all segments of society to be able to cater for the needs of the inmates.

He said the school, with its committed the staff, would continue to nurture the inmates to enable them to acquire employable skills that would make them live decently.
