2016 Milead Fellowship Postponed

The Management of Moremi Initiative for Women’s Leadership in Africa announces the postponement of our 2016 MILEAD Fellows Program. Accordingly, Moremi Initiative will not be opening applications this year.

We have had extensive internal and external deliberations on this matter, and concluded on taking the tough leadership decision of postponing this year’s program. This will allow our organization to identify ways to better position ourselves for subsequent years, and continue with our commitment to provide a world-class quality but highly subsidized program.

We continue to be grateful for the financial and in-kind sponsorship of our partners, a major reason why our doors have kept open. We are also very grateful for our dedicated core volunteer staff. Together, you have played a valuable role in laying a strong foundation for the advancement of young African women’s leadership and rights.

We are actively pursuing various options to fund Moremi Initiative’s work. We welcome any leads that you can provide personally or through your network. We have an ongoing Go Fund Me Campaign through which donations can be made to support Moremi Initiative – https://www.gofundme.com/fkv6c4ac

We understand the disappointment the postponement may cause our numerous prospective candidates and wish to assure you of the opportunity to apply next year. Applications for next year’s MILEAD Fellows Program will open on January 1, 2017.
