Veteran Journalist and stalwarts of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Kwasi Pratt Jr. has advised the party’s defeated Presidential aspirant Samia Nkrumah against re-contesting for the Jomoro parliamentary seat in the upcoming November 2016 election.

He is strongly convinced that Samia will waste her time and resources if she dares make that move as the grounds will not favour her.

Samia who was tipped by political watchers to win the CPP’s Flag bearer race over the weekend lost to Ivor Greenstreet, the party’s former General Secretary.

She polled 579 votes as against Greenstreet’s 1,288, while the two other contestants, Joseph Agyapong and Bright Akwetey secured 83 and 42 votes respectively.

Speaking to Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM, Monday, Samia who was defeated by the NDC’s candidate in the Jomoro contest in the 2012 elections stated that she has an unfinished business in serving the CPP in any capacity that will boost the party’s electoral fortunes.

“I would be happy to serve my party in any capacity including going back for the Jomoro seat. This is certainly not the end of Samia in Ghanaian politics. That will not happen.”

But speaking on Peace FM Tuesday, Kwasi Pratt Junior stated that Samia will make herself in Ghana’s politics relevant and also enhance her political fortunes if she forgets about going into another election and rather rally behind Mr Greenstreet.

“If Samia wants her future in Ghanaian elections to be enhanced, she has only one option and that is to rally round Greenstreet and campaign for Greenstreet that is her only way of redeeming herself. I have heard that she says she going to Jomoro to contest again, I beg her… it will affect her very seriously if she does that.”

He added: “If I were Samia, this is not the time to run into another election. This is the time to sit down and reflect deeply on what led to her defeat. This is the time to rally around the party and the Presidential candidate and forget that Jomoro seat. She can do many things to help the party improve on its electoral fortunes, but as for the Jomoro seat she should not venture otherwise she will regret making that move.”
