Don't Dump Your Free Education Policy
31.01.2016 LISTEN

As a youth group which advocates strongly for equal opportunities for all in the society, we wish to petition you: Nana Akuffo Addo not to dump your Free Education policy.

We appreciated that campaign message of yours in the 2012 elections and it was unfortunate the NDC campaigned against it.

We had a firm believe that the Free Education policy was coming to help the less privileged by providing an equal opportunity for every child to be enrolled in a higher education which in turn would develop all aspects of our country.

We couldn't understand the NDC'S remarks that such policy was not possible. With no shame, the NDC and the president of country promised us a 'progressive free Education' commencing the 2015/2016 academic year, but never happened.

We were glad us a group that the NDC and president Mahama appreciated and revealed later on that, the said policy was possible and the Mahama led-administration were putting up plans to ensure it in the 2015/2016 academic year. The said academic year just passed and H.E president Mahama and the NDC have not made any comment to that effect. We now stand to believe though the NDC now accepts the said policy is possible, it cannot ensure it due to their low commitment to ensure an equal opportunity for all manner of persons in our country.

We also further believe that their u-turn to the said policy is just one of its propaganda machinery and we think we must take it as such

In that regard, we call on you and your campaign team to incorporate the free education policy in your campaign message.

We trust that, your commitment to that policy would help ensure its reality for the poor and less previleged in the country.

We believe your firm believe in the fact that every school-going child should have equal opportunities to excel would drive you to the fulfillment of this policy.

We believe as a youth group that your campaign message would strongly be on tackling youth unemployment, corruption and building a stronger economy. But, we pray you to make the free education policy a key part of your campaign just for us from the less previleged homes.

Finally, we believe Ghana will be a better place if every child gets equal opportunities to rise or excel.

We wish you well as you prepare for your campaign and we are of firm believe that, Ghanaians will give you the nod to be president if you keep up your campaign on free education. Thank you

Signed
