NGO Calls for Social Interventions for  Persons with Disabilities.

Help Disabled Ghana, a non-profit disability organization has called on government to come out with interventions specifically for persons with disabilities that would serve as a means of empowering and ensuring the full participation of PWDs in society.

The Co-founder of the Help Disabled Ghana, Bernard Oduro Takyi who made the call said over the years duty bearers have ignored challenges facing persons with disabilities thereby putting them at the mercies of begging.

Mr. Oduro Takyi speaking at the maiden End of the Year Special Get-Together organised by Help Disabled Ghana at Kwatire in the Sunyani West District in Brong-Ahafo.

More than 330 persons with disabilities and aged came from various districts in the region were feted

According to Mr. Oduro Takyi who is also an Assembly Member of the Kwatire, the mission of the organisation is to become a strong voice and advocate for all Persons with Disabilities and the Aged in Ghana.

He announced that the NGO would construct disabled centre to provide marketable training persons with disabilities and their care givers to help improve their living standard.

Mr. Oduro Takyi said the NGO would collaborate with Ghana Federation of the Disabled and National Council of Persons with Disabilities to ensure that their activities are well executed to enable them to achieve their goals.
