Akim Ofoase (E/R), Dec 1, GNA - Mr. John Nyakpo, the Ofoase National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Secretary, has appealed to members to be of one accord to help market the party for the 2016 elections.

He said the recent parliamentary primary held at Ofoase and won by Mr. Tom Budu, the Akyemansa District Chief Executive was an internal contest, and rather the bigger work was outside there for members to come together to assist to sell the party.

Mr Nyakpo who was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the work now was not for Mr. Budu alone, but all hands must be on deck to campaign for the party for President John Mahama and the parliamentary candidate to come out victorious in 2016.

Mr. Joshua Asumeng Badu, the Ofoase Constituency Chairman, said Mr. Budu contested in the parliamentary primary with Mr. Alfred Osei Opoku, a businessman.

He said the number of NDC registered voters were 6,000 in 26 polling stations out of which Mr. Budu had 2,376 votes whilst Mr Opoku got 953 votes. The presidential candidate Mr. John Mahama had 3,503 votes.
