Kumasi, Dec 01, GNA - The youth have been urged to vote for change in the 2016 general elections to end the worsening economic suffering and poor management of the economy.

Dr. Martin Opoku Prempeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, said voters must make the right judgement by voting down the Mahama Administration for failed promises and abysmal performance.

The choice was about the nation's future and that Ghanaians could not afford to disappoint themselves, he added.

He was addressing members of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (Tescon) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Kumasi.

He asked the students to work hard and accept to make sacrifices to aid the electorate to have better understanding of the party's ideology and to trust it with their votes.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh said when elected to govern, the NPP would provide the right leadership to restore the health the troubled economy and make things better for everybody.

The MP for Assin Central, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, said the party would insist on level political playing field to ensure fair, free and credible polls.

He underlined the need for the members and supporters to be vigilant on the polling day to avoid cheating.

He lashed out at the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for corruption and bad governance, which he said, had brought untold hardships to the people.

Mr. Agyepong cited the soaring unemployment, utility bills, taxes, interest rates and erratic power supply and said the way forward was to overwhelmingly reject the NDC in 2016.

Mr. Vincent Ofori, President of the KNUST branch of Tescon, said they were embarking on massive political campaign in the rural communities to educate voters and win them over for the NPP.

They would distribute fliers, cataloguing the policies and development plans of the party, he added.
