The 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says he will officially outdoor his campaign team for the 2016 general elections on December 19, 2015 at the party's Annual Delegates' Conference scheduled to take place in Sunyani, the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital.

The NPP flagbearer made this known at the Annual Fundraising Dinner of the NPP-UK branch when addressing members on Saturday, November 28.

Prior to the outdooring of the campaign team, Nana Akufo-Addo is expected, on his return to Ghana, to present the composition of his campaign team to members of the National Executive Committee and the National Council of the party before the official outdooring ceremony.

The Sunyani Conference, according to Nana Akufo-Addo, will set the tone for the party to meet and 'set the agenda and framework for the 2016 campaign to show the world that the NPP is, indeed, all there, ready to take on the task of winning next year's election and forming an honest government that will provide relief, progress and prosperity for the great, longsuffering people of Ghana.'

The 2016 campaign, Nana Addo stressed, is for all NPP members, sympathisers and all those who want change in Ghana.

'I know that often it is the unsung, unmentioned, unrecognised people who do the real work. Those of you who can come home, please do but more importantly, let your money do the work for you and I promise I will not let you down,' he added to a standing ovation from the packed auditorium at the Boleyn Banqueting Suite.

Nana Akufo-Addo assured all NPP members that he would lead a team that would campaign vigorously throughout the country, adding, 'I am itching to go.'

'Where we have been strong traditionally, we shall work to increase our votes and where we have been weak, we shall put in extra effort to improve on our performance. We have to win the 2016 election. There can be no question about it,' he noted.

Victory in the 2016 election, he reiterated, would not be for the members of the party alone 'but for the people of Ghana who are undergoing unnecessary hardships and difficulties.'

Nana Akufo-Addo appealed to members of the party not to be dispirited about the internal happenings in the NPP, but rather focus on campaigning against the abysmal and disastrous Mahama-led NDC administration which has plunged the nation into economic hardship.

Whilst the leadership of the party is doing its best to bring sanity and peace, Nana Akufo-Addo urged members of the party, especially those in the Diaspora, 'not to inflame the situation from afar' but rather 'spend our energies against the disastrous Mahama NDC administration.'

'If we make a determined effort to stick together, we will come out strong. And I ask you to pray for our party and support the work of its organs – the National Disciplinary Committee, the Council of Elders, the National Executive Committee, the National Council and the Regional and Constituency Executive organs. They are manned by very responsible people and I have no doubt that they have been doing their best for all of us,' he said.
