UPP Commends President Mahama

The leadership of United Progressive Party wishes to congratulate President John Mahama for facilitating for the arrival of the emergency Karpowership to support the generation of electricity. The arrival of the 225 megawatts power barge would help address the deficit created by shortfalls in production and supply of electricity.

We are happy that the load shedding (dumsor) is about to end as this power barge is bringing 225 megawatts to the national grid.

Currently we know that the 250MW power project at Aboadze is going on, and indeed that is even bigger than the power barge, the KTPP Plant 220 MW is also at completion stage and TICO 120MW steam expansion has been completed. TAPCO has gone through the full combined cycle.

President Mahama has indeed done well in the Energy and Power Sector of the Economy and we think as a Party we need to commend President John Mahama for finding lasting and long term solutions to the power and energy deficit in Ghana.
