Nawulley (w/R), Nov. 30, GNA - To stop open and indiscriminate defecation in nearby bushes and surroundings, Mr Lee Ocran, a leading member of the NDC, is constructing a 10-seater Water Closet (WC) facility and a six-room bathroom for the people of Nawulley Junction near Half Assini.

The 7,000-Ghana-Cedi project which sarted in September this year, is expected to be completed by January next year.

An elder of the town, Mr Albert Kesse, made this known when he conducted the Ghana News Agency round to inspect the projects at Nawulley Junction which has reached the beam level.

According to him, the projects were dear to the people, because they did not exist in the community.

According to Mr Kesse, there is a mechanized borehole attached to them.

He said the absence of the facility in the town with a population of about 500 people, forced some residents to defecate in polythene bags and openly in nearby hushes.

These situations had the tendency to cause environmental hazards and the outbreak of diseases, he said

According to the elder, Ambassador Ocran, a native of the town and former Member of Parliament for the area, has equipped basic schools with computers.

He said the former MP had secured them 25 metal electricity poles for a street lighting project in the community as part of the District - wide street-lighting programme by government.

Mr Kesse commended the people for their high communal spirit in executing the projects.

He also commended the Jomoro District National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) for providing them three packets of aluminum roofing sheets for the project.

He on behalf of the chiefs and people of the town expressed their profound gratitude to Ambassador Lee Ocran for his efforts at contributing positively towards the development of the area.
