The Key To Success: Do A Lot Of Learning

Feature Article The Key To Success: Do A Lot Of Learning
NOV 29, 2015 LISTEN

Learning is not attained by chance. It must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.

-Abigail Adams (1744-1818), First Lady of the United States

Friend, do you want to succeed? Do you want riches and wealth?

Do you want to be a great person? Do you want to have great relationships?

Do you want to leave a legacy for your generation and generations to come?

I want you to know one thing: Your success will never come by envying the successful. Your success will not come by blaming someone else.

Success will continue to elude you if all you can do is sit back and blame the economy or the government. To succeed you’ve got to change the way you think and do things.

My advice to you is this: go look for successful people and learn from them. Look for those who are wealthy and gorgeous and learn of them.

If you study successful people, you will discover that they all have one secret-learning.

Instructional books
Visit a successful person in his home and chances are that you will find a library of assorted books. You will find books on success, management, leadership, wealth creation, religious books, books on entertainment etc.

You will be making a sad mistake if you think the books were meant for decoration. Successful people are voracious readers.

People don’t read books for the fun of it. They read to get knowledge and wisdom as well as the tools that are essential for success.

Learning is what has positioned them to succeed. It will do the same for you.

When you do a lot of learning, you will obtain knowledge and wisdom and with that it is easier for you to discover opportunities and utilize them. Mistakes are minimized as a result.

Learn, learn and learn. Make learning a lifelong affair.

It is the knowledge you acquire that will make you a special person sought after by people needing your services. You can get a well- paid job, get promotion and rise to the top of your career by applying what you have learned to solve problems.

Don’t look for success as if it is something you have lost. Dedicate yourself to continuous learning.

Every day, learn something new. Make yourself an invaluable person by becoming an expert in something.

Precious readers, to learn, sharpen your curiosity. Every person, situation or event is a potential teacher.

Be an observant person. There are opportunities for you to learn every day of your life.

The great Charles Tremendous Jones once noted: “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.” Instructive. With books and the right people, you can make the difference.

Sources of knowledge
Books are sources of knowledge. People are also sources of knowledge.

When you associate with people who are successful, their success habits will rub off on you. They will coach you on to success.

The people who are very, very rich and wealthy are people who are always willing to share their knowledge and expertise with others.

You can enrich your life by reading their memoirs. Their secrets to success and riches are embedded in the books they have written.

You will also do yourself a lot of good by reading biographies written of them by other people who knew them more intimately.

Show a lot of interest in successful people and what they do. It will open a world of knowledge and opportunity to you. Brian Sher put it more succinctly when he said, “Become rich in learning and in experiences, and then all other riches will follow.”

Enemies to learning
Even though learning brings with it a lot of benefits, it is observed that some people do not learn. What accounts for this?

Some people are comfortable with where they are. They don’t want to think outside the box.

Some people too are arrogant to learn. They stew in their stupidity and end up as failures.

How will you develop in your career without learning? How will your business flourish without better leadership and managerial skills?

Constant and never-ending improvement holds the key to success in every area of your life. That can only manifest when you consciously seek knowledge and wisdom through learning.

Get seriously involved in learning. Watch business videos, listen to tapes of successful people, attend seminars organized by the experts, go out there and see what your competitors are doing.

Don’t stop learning. The moment you stop learning, you stop growing.

Get educated every day. If not, the success you want will positively avoid you.

Deficiency of our educational institutions
We are here to succeed and make something of our lives. Unfortunately our educational institutions do not teach us how to succeed in life.

From KG to the university, there is no subject called success that is taught. Students graduate from our tertiary institutions without marketable skills.

They are not taught how to get a job, how to earn, keep and manage money wisely. They are not taught how they can be in business and create wealth to provide for themselves and family.

Look, there are many people who have finished university but do not know how to write a business plan. They have no clue how they can create their own jobs and make money.

Our tertiary schools must take a second look at what they teach the young ones. Critical thinking skills must be taught.

They must be taught to think creatively and be innovative. They must be equipped with problem solving skills.

The young ones must be taught the rules of life, the rules of success, and the rules of wealth creation, leadership and management skills.

Get financial education
To become rich and wealthy, get financial education. Know the difference between asset and liability.

An asset will put money in your pocket. A liability will make you spend money on it; it takes money out of your pocket.

To amass wealth, get more assets. Invest your life (time) and resources to build more assets to become very rich and wealthy.

Conclusion
I have shown you the path to take to become a great person. Create the life you desire- the health, wealth, relationships, success and happiness you’ve always wanted. Do a lot of learning.

Read books and associate with the right people who will mentor and coach you on to become an exceptionally wealthy and successful person. Reprogramme your mind for success. Everything is possible with God.
