Woman Molests Daughter

Monica Kabenla, a 28-year-old woman residing at Mauzokro, a farming community in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region, is in the grip of the police for allegedly beating her eight-year-old step-daughter mercilessly with a hot cutlass.

Monica accused the girl of leaving the house without permission and returning late in the night.

The Monica put the cutlass in a fire while the victim was away and when the girl came back home, she used the hot cutlass to beat the little girl, inflicting wounds on her body, according to sources.

DAILY GUIDE gathered some residents in the area who heard about the barbaric act reported the matter to the police.

According to the residents, the little girl indicated that the step mother also accused her of pouring a substance in the house but she denied it.

The little girl revealed that the step mother used a hot cutlass to beat her.

'I will like the police to jail my step mother,' the little girl demanded, amidst wailing.

DSP Stella Sedemah of the Ellembelle District Police, who confirmed the arrest of Monica, indicated that the suspect would soon be put before court on the charge of causing harm.

DSP Sedemah revealed that the victim, who is in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare, has been attending hospital for treatment.
